Individual Psychotherapy

Providing Individual Psychotherapy in CT and NJ

Over the past 28 years, I have been counseling many people troubled by personal problems including self-esteem, low self-confidence, and loneliness. Through my practice Lenore Millian, PhD, I provide individual psychotherapy online.

In addition to the challenges mentioned above, I have found that a number my patients have reached out to me with feelings of being overwhelmed with the difficulties of life. The world is a complicated place for all of us who are juggling careers, family, relationships, and more.

Not only do these difficulties impact you as in individual, but they can also affect your relationships negatively and can cause great stress and unhappiness to all who are involved. This is where, as an experienced psychologist and mental health therapist, I can intervene actively and effectively. Let me provide you with a step-by-step plan that helps you to deal with what’s going on in your life:

Step 1: I can help you evaluate where problems exist.
Step 2: You decide what your goals in therapy are so that you can lead a life that is satisfying and contented.
Step 3: I help you to put in place the changes you choose to make.

I realize this sounds simple and in a way, it is. The first step begins with you deciding you want guidance in dealing with your problems. Reach out to me, and together we work to make positive changes.

Individual Psychotherapy as Teamwork

I think of individual therapy as teamwork involving you and your therapist within a safe and comfortable setting. With my training and experience, I am qualified to assist you. Count on me to have a listening ear and a nonjudgmental attitude.

Respect for you as a person is the guiding principle in my mind when helping you resolve problems or issues. I honor the courage it takes for my patients to admit they are having problems and to ask for guidance.

I encourage the concept of “enlightened selfishness.” This means putting yourself first and taking good care of yourself. When you do this, you feel good and refreshed and have the wherewithal to focus time and energy on others.
